Just 2km from the crystal-clear Sicilian sea (which are reachable by bike in a few minutes keen cyclists will be happy to know!), Il Vigneto is the perfect place to visit for those who are seeking a peaceful “slow” holiday surrounded by natural beauty.

 

Whilst their onsite wellness centre places an emphasis on relaxation, there are also options for the more active among you, as the resort offers free bicycle rental for those who want to cycle down to the beach or explore the surrounding countryside. (Top Tip! There is a cycle path that connects the historic centre of the nearby town of Menfi with the seaside resort of Porto Palo and Lido Fiori, so bike really is the best way to experience the delights of the area.)

 

After a tiring day out hiking or cycling, you can return to Il Vigneto to lounge in the warm summer sun in their fragrant gardens or by the outdoor pool, and enjoy an aperitivi before you head off to their very own traditional Sicilian-style restaurant for a different kind of adventure – one of gastronomic discovery!

Opened in 1983 in a charming old farm house, the family-run ristorante is recommended by many Michelin guides, and it’s no wonder when you gaze over their delectable dishes, which range from creamy pastas the fresh fish of the day, caught from the nearby azure waters of the Mediterranean. All washed down with a selection of fine wines of course.

Location
