Excelsior Dolomites Life Resort is one of our key choices for families in San Vigilio. Summer and autumn days can combine walking, cycling and village time with swimming and activities back at the hotel. Couples can enjoy the same mountain setting with a separate adults’ spa to return to.

We build the stay around the ages, interests and stamina of everyone travelling. A short outing and an afternoon by the pool can be as much a part of the holiday as a full day in the mountains.

Room layouts that make a difference

Fanes, Pares and Lavarella

These double-room choices offer different amounts of space, from the compact Fanes to larger Pares and Lavarella rooms. We compare the layout and extra-bed arrangements before suggesting one for a couple or a small family.

Fanes Family

Approximately 39 m², with a double bedroom, a separate bunk-bed room and two bathrooms. It is a useful option when children need their own sleeping area without moving to a large suite.

Suite Fodara

A maisonette of approximately 55 m² over two floors, with different layouts available. Internal stairs and the position of the beds matter here; we confirm the configuration rather than describing it as a single open-plan room.

Lodge and larger suites

The resort has further family and special-occasion options. Tell us whether separate bedrooms, outdoor space or a private wellness feature would improve your stay, and we will narrow the choice.

Family facilities and a separate adults’ spa

The Dolomites Family Spa includes an indoor pool with children’s areas, an outdoor whirlpool and family sauna facilities. The Sky Spa and Castello di Dolasilla adult areas are for guests aged 16 and over. This distinction helps families and couples choose the hotel with a clear picture of how they will use it.

The hotel’s ¾ Gourmet Board Plus includes breakfast, a light lunch, afternoon snacks and dinner. We specify drinks and any supplements separately in your proposal. Guided activities and children’s programmes depend on the week and the ages taking part; we check what is included.

Car-free can work with the right arrival

San Vigilio is reached by road for the final stage. We can combine rail travel with an arranged transfer to the hotel, then use suitable local buses and the hotel’s organised outings during the stay. The resort’s hiking transfers are linked to its guided programme, rather than an unrestricted private shuttle.

A car adds freedom for independent sightseeing across a wider area. It is less necessary for a week built around the village, local walks and hotel activities. Lift and bus operating dates shape the possibilities in autumn.

Add a lake or an art city

Lake Garda makes a rewarding second base, with the exact lakeside hotel determining whether to keep a car or use transfers. Verona can add a shorter city stay.

For a week, we usually give San Vigilio the time it deserves. Across 10–14 nights, two bases work well; an art city, lake and mountain route needs enough nights at each stop to remain comfortable.
