Overview

Design hotel MaisonMe on Lake Garda’s east coast merges modern Italian style with the warmth and charm so that you feel at home from the moment you walk in.

Right on the waterfront and just steps from a private beach, it’s a wonderful hotel for couples who want to leave the car behind or who fancy a short break by the lake. It’s only 90 minutes by bus from Verona Airport, and just 30 minutes by bus from Pescheria station on the main Venice-Milan trainline. And if you do want to drive your own four wheels, there’s on-site parking, too.

Once at the hotel, you can rent a bicycle from reception - they have both classic and electric bicycles - or book MaisonMe’s Tesla service, although much of what you’ll want to see is within easy walking distance.

Back at the hotel, you can relax and take in the lake views, or grab a towel and walk the few steps to the hotel’s private beach, just 50 metres away.

Rooms

This boutique hotel’s 17 sleek rooms all have balconies or terraces, many with views of the lake so you can wake up, make yourself a cup of tea or coffee and watch the lake turn pink as the sunrises.

Back in your room, pad across the herringbone-patterned wooden floors to the black-and-white marble bathrooms. You’ll find a cosy robe and heating will keep you warm in winter, and air-conditioning cools you down in summer. All rooms have beach towels, which you can take to the nearby private beach for a dip in the lake.

Dining

Whether you’re an early riser or prefer to sleep in, breakfast will be ready when you are. Vegan, gluten-free and most other dietary preferences can be catered for.

A delicious buffet of fresh pastries, bread and delicacies will be laid out, and someone will be on hand to whip up a delicious start to your day, whether that’s just after sunrise or nearly lunchtime. Lounge around the shared table downstairs or relax in bed as someone brings it to your room.

For lunch and dinner, you’ll find the popular La Preonda beach-front restaurant just a few doors away, serving regional cuisine, or plenty of options in the town five minutes away.

And don’t miss the chance to visit one of the renowned Bardolino DOC vineyards near the hotel. Stop in one for a tasting and you’ll find they often serve excellent aperitivo - small plates of local cheeses, hams and bruschetta.

Location

Bardolino is considered by many to be one of the pearls of Lake Garda and deserves to be visited not only for the natural beauty of the lake and for the wide beaches, but also for the hinterland characterized by a lush countryside and the morainic hills producing the famous Bardolino red wine doc.

The town is known for the beauty of its historic center characterised by wide streets, historic buildings, typical restaurants, shops of various kinds, and a long lakeside promenade.

Must-sees are the Romanesque Church of San Severo housing interesting frescoes inspired by the Apocalypse, the Pieve di Santa Maria a Cisano, and the famous Oil Museum, the first of its kind in Italy, offering an interesting educational path to discover the tradition of the olive tree and the production of olive oil.

Inland, it is also possible to visit the Wine Museum set up in the Zeni Brothers' cellar. It offers a total immersion in the history of the Garda wine through the visit of well-kept and attractive exhibition rooms.

The leisure offer is very wide and articulated, certainly able to satisfy even the most demanding customers. Bardolino, in addition to having an admirable historical and artistic heritage, offers sports enthusiasts numerous facilities for practicing sporting activities such as rowing, sailing and windsurfing.

Numerous events take place in Bardolino with the Bardolino wine as the absolute protagonist. Among the main one, we point out the Wine Festival in May, the Grape and Bardolino Wine Festival in October, the Novello Wine Festival in November, the famous Grape Care, during the harvest period.
