Strolling through Ischia’s wine cellars

Started with the Greek colonists, Ischia celebrates its millenary bond with a week of events revealing the island’s farming identity, which translates into terraced landscapes and heroic agriculture, in extraordinary cellars and red and white wines appreciated in Italy and all over the world.

For its 12th edition – 14th to 21st September-, the “Andar per Cantine” (strolling through cellars) event is back with 9 different routes winding through the island’s oldest wineries and its most luxuriant vineyards, between green tuff and Mediterranean scrub, from the village of Campagnano to the hermitage of Epomeo, passing through the Bay of Sorgeto and the boutique cellars of Serrara Fontana.

Among the many initiatives, look out for the “Singing Under the Stars”: the power-assisted bicycle evening tour through wineries and vineyards including various tasty stops in restaurants and trattorias offering typical local specialities at discounted prices.
