An art and design hotel for a car-free city stay

Spadari al Duomo suits travellers who want to explore central Milan from a small hotel with individual character. Its art and design interiors give the stay a clear identity, while the location near the Duomo makes it easy to divide the day between sightseeing, shopping and a return to the hotel.

We recommend it to couples starting or finishing a Northern Italy holiday, as well as guests who want several days devoted to Milan. Selected rooms can also work for a small family.

Choose the outlook, not just the category

Classic or Superior

Classic rooms are approximately 20 m² and face the street or courtyard. Superior rooms are around 23 m² and face the inner courtyard, making them a useful starting point when a quieter outlook matters.

A terrace room

Special Superior and Special Deluxe terrace rooms look into the courtyard. They offer outdoor space, rather than a guaranteed cathedral view. Bathrooms have a bath with an overhead shower.

Special Deluxe with View

On the seventh floor, this approximately 28 m² room has a bay window towards the Duomo spires and Galleria dome. It is distinct from the eighth-floor Deluxe with View, which requires a final flight of stairs without a lift.

Two-storey suite

Approximately 41 m², with internal levels and stair access from the surrounding floors. We check whether this layout and the sofa bed suit your party before recommending it.

Give Milan time beyond the main sights

Breakfast at the hotel provides a convenient start. The surrounding centre offers plenty of choices for lunch, an aperitif and dinner, so we can shape the days around the places you most want to see.

Art, architecture, food and design can each lead the plan. We arrange timed visits where appropriate and balance them with less structured time, avoiding a schedule that depends on walking continuously. Tell us how far you comfortably walk and whether guided visits would help you get more from the city.

Keep the city stage car-free

The hotel is close to the Duomo Metro area, but arrival with luggage deserves a separate plan. We choose a suitable transfer or public-transport route from your actual airport or railway station, taking account of steps, changes and the final walk.

A hire car usually adds little during the Milan stay. If the next property is rural or mountain-based, we can arrange car hire when you leave the city. Alternatively, rail can cover the next stage with a transfer to the hotel at the other end.

A gateway to lakes and Alpine journeys

Lake Como, Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta each offer a different lakeside companion. The chosen hotel determines the final journey and how much local transport you will need.

Milan can also sit within a rail holiday to or from Italy through Switzerland. We can assess a Bernina or Glacier Express journey as a separate part of the route, with the necessary nights and connections, rather than treating the two trains as one excursion.

Allow enough city time for your interests before moving on: we build the balance around the whole holiday, not a fixed hotel package.
