Coastal and island hotels in Italy

A sandy beach outside a village, a terrace above the bay or a small address with rocky sea access: begin with the kind of coastal days you enjoy. We choose the setting, room and practical arrangements together.

San Montano Resort & Spa — Lacco Ameno · Ischia

Choose the stay, not just the scenery

What makes this setting right for you?

Choose your way into the water

A sandy beach, pebbly bay, rocky bathing platform and resort pool create different holidays. We explain the access, including steps and any walk or shuttle.

Decide how evenings will work

Some hotels let you walk to restaurants; others make dining at the property part of the attraction. Choose around how independent you want to be.

Leave time for the hotel

A sea-view terrace or thermal pool is worth choosing when you can enjoy it. We balance coastal outings with days left largely unplanned.

Make the hotel part of the journey

A stay on its own, or a wider holiday

A week in one well-chosen base can be rewarding in its own right. For ten to fourteen nights, we usually begin with two complementary stays and allow time for the move between them.

Naples followed by Ischia

Combine archaeology, city walks and food with a longer island stay. Transfers and the sea crossing form part of the route.

Explore Naples and Ischia

Le Marche and the Adriatic

Follow cultural days in Ascoli or Urbino with Portonovo and the Conero coast, using a car or arranged transfers between settings.

Explore Le Marche

Useful questions

Are these all beachfront hotels?

No. The selection includes hotels by the water, village stays near a beach and elevated resorts. Each card explains the distinction.

Is a car essential for a coastal holiday?

It depends on your base and plans. Ischia and selected towns work well with transfers and local transport. Rural shores and wider independent exploring often benefit from a car.

Can you help choose a hotel for children?

Yes. Beach access, pools, sleeping space and the walk to restaurants matter. We check the hotel and room against your children’s ages.
