Countryside hotels in Italy

Choose a country house, wine relais or rural estate with enough time to enjoy where you stay. Gardens, local food and pool afternoons belong alongside the towns and landscapes you want to explore.

Choose the stay, not just the scenery

What makes this setting right for you?

Make room for quieter days

The grounds, food and shared spaces can be part of the holiday. You need not set out on an excursion every morning.

Plan dinner and transport

A country setting may mean driving to restaurants. We check dining options and can arrange selected transfers or a driver for wine visits.

Choose the building and layout

Rooms may be spread across farmhouses, annexes or historic buildings. Steps, kitchens and distance to the pool can matter as much as the category.

Make the hotel part of the journey

A stay on its own, or a wider holiday

A week in one well-chosen base can be rewarding in its own right. For ten to fourteen nights, we usually begin with two complementary stays and allow time for the move between them.

Venice and the Prosecco Hills

Begin with art and neighbourhood walks, then move into the hills for wine visits and hotel time, planning a car or driver for the rural stage.

Explore the Prosecco Hills

Siracusa and the Baroque countryside

Pair city walks with a settled base near Ispica, using a car for towns and beaches rather than moving for each outing.

Explore south-east Sicily

Renaissance towns and the Adriatic

Stay near Urbino for countryside and cultural days, then change the pace with a coastal hotel in Le Marche.

Useful questions

Can a country hotel work without a car?

Sometimes, with meals and outings planned in advance. A rural setting does not automatically make a convenient public-transport base.

Does a wine-estate stay include tastings?

Not automatically. We explain what your arrangement includes and reserve selected tastings or winery visits separately where needed.

Can we combine a rural hotel with a city?

Yes. A city first, followed by a longer country stay, often creates a useful contrast. Two well-chosen bases are a sensible starting point for ten to fourteen nights.
