A week of art, gardens and city life, linked by rail

Spend four nights in Padova and three in Verona, with time for the major sights and for the pleasures between them: market shopping, an evening aperitivo, a garden visit and a good restaurant near your room.

This is a shorter two-centre holiday with a straightforward rail journey between the cities. It suits couples who enjoy exploring on foot, with private walks adapted to your interests and pace. We can extend either stay or add Lake Garda if you have more time.

YOUR ROUTE

Padova 4 nights · Verona 3 nights = 7 nights. Arrive via Venice for Padova, travel west by train to Verona and depart from Verona, subject to suitable flights. We can adjust the direction when another arrival works better.

Padova: four nights at C20 Suites

C20 Suites is the suggested city base. We arrange the airport-to-accommodation journey and choose the room category around your preferences.

Begin with a private walk focused on the places that interest you. Giotto’s frescoes in the Scrovegni Chapel need a timed reservation; we build that visit into the day rather than assuming you can drop in.

On other days, combine the market squares and Palazzo della Ragione with the Basilica of Saint Anthony, Prato della Valle or the Botanical Garden. There is no need to see them all in one circuit. Tell us how long you like to walk before a break and we will shape the visits accordingly.

For this suggested arrangement, breakfast is included during the Padova stay. The proposal confirms the service and arrangements attached to your chosen room and dates.

Verona: three nights at Butterfly Rooms

Travel by train from Padova to Verona, with the station connections planned at each end. We choose a suitable service when booking instead of tying the holiday to a single advertised journey time.

The Butterfly Rooms stay is room-only in this version of the holiday, leaving you free to choose a café for breakfast. We confirm the room, access and arrival arrangements before you travel.

A private walk can link the Arena, Piazza delle Erbe and the riverside, with time for the churches and streets that appeal to you most. Add Giardino Giusti for a garden visit, allowing for its slopes and steps if you want to explore beyond the lower garden.

Juliet’s House is a literary association rather than the home of historical characters. If you want to visit, we check the current entry arrangements and include it by choice, not as a compulsory stop.

An Arena performance can be the centrepiece of an evening when the programme fits your dates. Tickets, seating and the practicalities of a late finish are agreed separately. A visit to Verona outside the opera season remains a rewarding city stay.

A car-free week, with the arrival details taken care of

A hire car is unnecessary for this city pairing. Your proposal can include private airport transfers, the rail journey and station transfers where useful. We discuss luggage and how far you are comfortable walking with it rather than assuming every connection should be made on foot.
