One of the most beautiful spa hotels in the Italian Alps region known as the Dolomites, the Hotel Kolfuschgerhof is the sort of place you’ll want to linger. The spa is vast, with a heated indoor swimming pool, five types of sauna, a whirlpool, a steam room, and several relaxation rooms and treatment rooms. It’s worth booking in for the unique ‘hay bath’ treatment, where you lie in a bath full of hay from Alpine meadows.

Past guests have raved about the meals here, whether the buffets, fondues or five-course gastronomic menus.

As you look out onto the crown-shaped peaks of the Sella Mountains, you can’t help but want to explore them.

In winter, you can swoosh straight out of the hotel for 200 metres to a gondola in the renowned Dolomiti Superski, the world’s largest ski region.

In summer, pull on your hiking boots to breathe in the fresh Alpine air right on your doorstep, or walk three hour across glorious Alpine scenery to the Puez-Odle Nature Park, listed as a Unesco World Heritage site for its remarkable natural beauty.

Back at this four-star luxury hotel in the Alta Badia, South Tyrol, you’ll be greeted with a warmly traditional welcome by members of the Ebner family.

Lovely natural wood on floors, ceilings and furnishings gives all the rooms a warm feeling.

Furnishings are in traditional, characterful mountain style.

All rooms have mountain views, and some come with balconies so you can step outside into the fresh Alpine air.

For a real treat, book the gorgeous Tower Suite, a two-storey apartment with two-person bath, tropical experience shower and views over a waterfall.

You won’t want to eat anywhere else - the food here is truly that good.

Because it’s so popular, the hotel has a range of dining options, from a gastronomic restaurant serving exquisite Alpine cuisine in a traditional setting to a sunny terrace with Alpine views and Mediterranean food. Guests on half board basis can choose to eat a la carte fro a supplement of 15 euro.

Delicious, high-quality buffets and fondues are also served to give you a wide variety of meal options.

Relax over drinks in the cosy bar and lounge.

The buffet breakfast is large and excellent - enough to get you ready for a day’s hiking or hitting the slopes.

The kitchen is set up to cater for a wide variety of allergies.

The desserts, ice creams and pastries are all freshly made on site, so save room for sweets!

The small and peaceful village of Colfosco, located at the foot of the Sella massif and Mount Sassongher, offers numerous possibilities for excursions in the Dolomites.

In a few hours of walking you can reach evocative destinations such as the Puez - Odle - UNESCO World Natural Heritage Park (on easy, well marked and well prepared trails) or the Sella Group with the famous Val Mezdì and the Pisciadù via ferrata (suitable for more hikers experts). The less trained can enjoy the excursion to the Pisciadù waterfalls.

While maintaining the typical characteristics of a beautiful mountain town, today, Colfosco is frequented by tourists who come every year from all over the world, and, like the other towns of the Val Badia, offers hospitality of international standards and a few starred restaurants such as Sant Ubertus, Michela's Stua and Siriola.
