The sky is clear and blue in Apulia, the light is dense, and there's a fresh wind blowing that carries the sound of cicadas and, from far away, the smell of the sea.
The Nina Trulli Resort is a white vision of calm, of a slow time, a spontaneous architecture of well-being. It's about 15 km from the seaside village of Monopoli, and it's surrounded by rows of vines and centuries-old olive trees.
The farm, which used to belong to a wealthy family of farmers and breeders, has been turned into a charming residence. The renovation project kept the essence of its origins: a small village of Trulli.
Not much has changed--you can still see the dark walls of the Trullo-oven, the original beams of the stable where the cheeses were hung for maturation, the farmyard, the mangers, the original floors, the shed, once a place where traditional dishes were prepared, and where the women of the house met to work on fruit preserves, tomato sauce, bread dough, Frize and Taralli.
The vineyard around it offers Baresana and Primitivo, which are typical of the terroir in this area. A fairytale setting with an orchard full of tangerines, lemons, plums, pears, cherries, and a vegetable garden. A centuries-old oak in the background provides shade for the pool on hot Apulian summer days.
There are eleven trulli on the farm, which have been turned into elegant suites for guests. They lean against each other, giving the resort the connotation of a small village immersed in the Mediterranean countryside.
Each Trullo has unique characteristics, but they all share a common thread of using local materials combined with modern functionality. Things like the stone-floored shower, essential style, and all the comforts that make staying in a Trullo great.
Orto Restaurant - The name comes from the resort's vegetable garden, which has many vegetables and different kinds of fruit trees. It can almost completely satisfy the resort's need for vegetables.
The menu is entirely based on its seasonal produce, and the dishes are designed and created on the basis of a careful cyclical rotation of the vegetables. The Orto Restaurant's goal is to use vegetables to their full potential.

Nina Trulli Resort is a farmhouse in the typical countryside district of the Valle d'Itria, just 5 km from the sea.
It's in Monopoli, a city with deep-rooted maritime traditions, but also known as the City of a Hundred Districts. Tortorella is right in one of these.
