Overview

Welcome to L'Aquatio Cave Luxury Hotel & SPA, a truly unique accommodation experience located in the Sasso Caveoso district of Matera. The hotel is situated in the ancient Conche quarter, which dates back to the 13th century, and is a stunning example of architectural restoration and design.

Architects Cosimo dell'Acqua and Simone Micheli have seamlessly integrated the hotel into the natural landscape, using traditional building techniques and respecting the area's history and culture. From the moment you step inside, you'll be transported to another world, as the hotel's lighting and interior design captures the natural beauty of the surrounding caves.

Couples will love the romantic and intimate atmosphere of the hotel, and history buffs will appreciate the attention to detail in the restoration and preservation of the ancient structures. Each room is designed with comfort and elegance in mind, with luxurious furnishings and stunning views of the Sasso Caveoso and the historic city.

The 500 sqm wellness center at Aquatio Cave Luxury Hotel & SPA is a charming space that occupies the deepest part of the hotel, recovered from 9th-century underground rooms.
