A panoramic base for exploring western Sicily

Villa Adesso brings together three qualities that matter in this part of Sicily: privacy, a particularly appealing pool setting and sensible access to the region’s principal days out. The villa sits above open countryside near Buseto Palizzolo, roughly midway between Erice and Segesta.

The house has enough indoor and outdoor space for eight guests without feeling oversized. Stone walls and exposed beams give it character, while air conditioning throughout, four bathrooms, a properly equipped kitchen and generous terraces make it practical for a full week.

Best for: one family, two families travelling together, three couples with children, or a multigenerational group. It is less suitable for four couples who expect four equivalent double bedrooms or an en-suite bathroom for every room.

  • Setting: Buseto Palizzolo countryside
  • Garden: approximately 1,000 m²
  • Villa: approximately 200 m²
  • Terraces: approximately 200 m²

Before you choose it

The principal planning decisions

Three doubles and one twin

The bedroom mix suits families particularly well. It also works for three couples with children, but it should not be presented as four equivalent double bedrooms for four adult couples.

Three en suites, not four

Two ground-floor doubles and the first-floor double have private bathrooms. The ground-floor twin uses a separate shower room. There are four bathrooms in total.

A car is essential

The nearest restaurant and delicatessen are stated as 2 km away, but should be treated as places reached by car unless the route is checked locally. Valderice’s shops and services are 11 km away.

A deep pool with a safety gate

The 10 × 4.5 metre saltwater pool ranges from 1.20 to 2.20 metres deep and has a safety gate. It is not confirmed as heated, so it should not be sold as reliably warm outside the main season.

Location

Between Erice, Segesta and the Trapani coast

Villa Adesso stands in the countryside near Buseto Palizzolo, roughly midway between the medieval hill town of Erice and the archaeological site of Segesta. The setting feels private and rural, but its real value is the range of western Sicily days that can be planned from one base.

Trapani opens the route towards the salt pans and ferries for the Egadi Islands, while San Vito Lo Capo and the Zingaro coast provide contrasting beach and nature days. This is a villa for guests who want to explore by car and return to a quiet pool setting, rather than walk into a town each evening.

From the villa

Four western Sicily days worth planning

Villa Adesso works best when the group chooses a small number of purposeful excursions and leaves enough time for the pool. These guides help separate the different kinds of day available from the villa.

Hill town and archaeology

Choose how to combine Erice and Segesta

Both are close enough to consider during the stay, but they offer very different experiences. Weather, heat and the group’s interest in archaeology should decide whether they share a day or remain separate.

Plan the wider western Sicily route

City and landscape

Give Trapani and the salt pans enough time

Trapani combines a compact old town, seafront, harbour and a distinctive salt landscape. A planned half or full day works better than treating it only as the departure point for an island ferry.

Explore Trapani before you go

Island day

Choose the right Egadi Island

Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo are not interchangeable. Ferry schedules, sea conditions and how the group wants to spend the day should determine the choice.

Plan an Egadi Islands day

Beach and nature

Separate San Vito Lo Capo from Zingaro

San Vito is the easier beach-and-town day; Zingaro requires more planning around walking, heat, parking and sea access. Combining both can make the day feel unnecessarily rushed.
