Fabulously refurbished Sicilian villa, set amidst the rural landscape of the Val di Noto, with an infinity pool and private wellness area.
Superb views over Scicli
Spa, with Jacuzzi, sauna, and relaxation area
Sitting in a lofty position in the rural countryside near the UNESCO World Heritage site of Scicli in south east Sicily, Villa Stella is a stone-walled former farmhouse with views over the town.
The focal point of the garden is the striking infinity pool and pale stone sunbathing terraces, but elsewhere, there are olive, almond and citrus trees, spiky succulents and an atmospheric courtyard with an outdoor dining area.
Much of the original building’s charm has been maintained in the property’s recent refurbishment but combined with a series of architectural and design twists which together result in a truly spectacular property. The spacious living room, with contemporary designer seating, has a fully retractable electric roof, creating a unique fully furnished outdoor room. From here, stairs lead down to a stylish Spa, with Jacuzzi, sauna, and relaxation area. The glass-floored kitchen and dining area is directly above the Spa.
The four double bedrooms (one in a separate annex) are all spacious and decorated with the same designer flair as the rest of the property, with original stone walls, magnificent tiled flooring and simple elegant furnishings. Bathrooms (one for each bedroom) are equally stylish.
Ground Floor: large living room, kitchen, 3 double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom/shower. Lower Floor: wellness area (sauna, whirlpool bath, 1 bathroom with shower). Annex: 1 double bedroom with en-suite bathroom/shower.

Ideally placed for exploring south east Sicily, the villa is close to several beaches and less than 10km from the nearest sandy beach at Donnalucata. Spend days on the beach at Marina di Ragusa, visit the beach front home of the fictional Montalbano at Punta Secca or explore the sandy coves that fringe the Vendicari Nature Reserve on the east coast.
Scicli itself is very charming, with a cluster of Baroque palaces and churches and a good selection of bars and restaurants. Its town hall is the film location for Montalbano’s police HQ. The other principle towns of the Val di Noto – Modica, Ragusa Ibla, Ispica and Palazzolo Acreidi – are all within easy reach.
For a longer day out, Syracuse, with its astonishing archaeological park and historic centre on the island of Ortigia, is a little further away (85km).
