Combine a stay at Masseria Montenapoleone with the stone city of Matera

Overview

Abandoned for more than 50 years, the Masseria Montenapoleone has come back to life thanks to the Monteneve-Van Gaubergen family, who in the space of ten years, made this ruined place a true paradise on earth. Surrounded by 35 hectares of greenery, the concept of the guest house is to offer its customers what nature does best.

The Masseria Montenapoleone perfectly represents the softness of the Provencal style and the simplicity of the Apulian decor, coupled with the enveloping atmosphere of the Flemish countryside. The interior is decorated with clever and sustainable design ideas.

Rooms

The true originality of this place is revealed in its twenty-one rooms and suites, each one different from the other, furnished with hand-built furniture and with the most unthinkable objects: such as lamps created with 1960s sauce or shoe racks made with shutters.

Aesthetics do not neglect comfort, each room has large bathrooms, sofas and wardrobes created for neatly storing clothes, everything is designed to offer you a functional and elegant stay.

Dining

Authenticity is also found in the two restaurants with the Winter Garden, an ultra-bright 300 square meter space built in an old hangar, where Provençal flavors will delight the taste buds of diners, and the Falegnameria where 4 theme dinners are served every week: the Montenapoleone Social dinner, the Barbecue Night,  Apulian Surf'n'Turf, Pizza and Panzerotti Party.

Breakfasts are a treat, with all sorts of local delicacies, jams, fruit picked from the garden and home-made goodies.

The family's passion for fresh produce make it possible to taste fruits and vegetables, honey, red wine and three different types of olive oil just as mother nature intended.

Giuliano Monteneve and his wife Alessandra Recchia make sure to offer unique experiences to their customers by carrying out many tailor-made activities with cooking classes, wine tastings, bike rides, yoga, painting in the open. air, horseback riding on the beach, catamaran trips or even renting a vintage car to explore the region.

The nearby Zoo Safari Fasanolandia, Europe's largest wild animal park, and the Selva di Fasano, boasting a beautiful botanical garden, are two families' favourites.
