In the know

3 interesting free things to see in Rome

#1 Porta Portese. Every Sunday from 6:00 to 14:00 you can buy anything at the Porta Portese flea market. It is nice to walk around Porta Portese even just to browse before or after a tour of Trastevere.

#2 Giardino degli Aranci. The view over Rome is suggestive but continuing after the garden towards Piazza di Malta, you will find the Villa del Priorato da Malta; from here you can see St Peter's Dome from an unusual perspective, that of the garden lock, as happens in the movie The Great Beauty.

#3 Caravaggio and Michelangelo. The churches of Santa Maria del Popolo, Sant'Agostino and San Luigi dei Francesi host paintings by Caravaggio and admiring them is completely free. In San Pietro in Vincoli, on the other hand, there is the huge Moses by Michelangelo, also here the visit is free.

A night at the Opera

A show at the Teatro di San Carlo is ideal for couples who want to end an evening in Naples in a special way. This wonderful temple of opera is the oldest in Europe and boasts a large stalls and five tiers of boxes.

Kayaking in Naples

How about enjoying the sunset spectacle aboard a Kayak? After all, even Naples seen from the sea is a whole different story. Do not miss it.

Pausilypon Archaeological Park

This environmental archaeological park is one of the most fascinating landscapes of the Gulf, and here it is possible to admire the remains of the Theater, the Odeion and some reception rooms of the villa, whose maritime structures are now part of the neighboring Submerged Park of Gaiola, on overlooked by the lookout points overlooking the sea of Pausilypon.

Classical Music on the Amalfi Coast

Known throughout the world, Ravello is nicknamed the city of music. It is a must to attend at least one concert of the renowned Ravello Festival, which is held every year in the enchanting setting of Villa Rufolo or at the Oscar Niemeyer auditorium.

The best Sfogliatella

A pastry café on the Piazza del Duomo in Amalfi, as chic as it is authentic we talk about the Andrea Pansa pastry shop (since 1830). The dessert counter is a corner of paradise, remember to turn the corner, very often the door of the laboratory is open and the perfume deserves a minute of your life (as well as silence).

City Breaks

Rome from above: the most beautiful rooftop terraces with breathtaking views

When it's Aperitif O'clock, the many roof gardens dotting Rome's roofs get ready to offer the trendiest cocktails but also - and above all - the most breathtaking and romantic views.

Hiking the Amalfi Coast: the Path of Gods

An Instagrammer’s paradise, the Path of the Gods does not present any particular technical difficulties; the gradients are irrelevant, and it is almost entirely flat.

Day 1-4: Rome

Rome is a large living room to be crossed on tiptoe, and this is how we imagine you to experience your stay in Rome: on tiptoe and with a wide open heart. Yes, because walking through its streets, moving through its alleys, discovering its squares, monuments and centuries-old works of art captivate anyone's heart.

Get ready to fill up on emotions, to study the details of the noble palaces, to observe the Apennine range that embraces it on clear days, to celebrate its eternal beauty and photograph it as well as you have never done before.

However much time you spend here will never be enough. But find time too to enjoy the piazzas that punctuate the historic centre, to dine at twilight in Piazza Navona and experience the lively evenings in the Campo dei Fiori and Trastevere.

Your Hotel

The Monti Palace Hotel awaits you in the characteristic Rione Monti, a stone's throw from the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia and the Imperial Forums.

The hotel boasts elegantly furnished rooms, as well as a panoramic bar where you can enjoy a rich breakfast or a refreshing aperitif surrounded by Rome's skyline.

Day 4-8: Naples

The Frecciarossa high speed rail will whisk you to Naples in just over an hour.

It is impossible to describe Naples in a few words: it is a city to which neutral tones cannot be applied, you cannot say that you "like it": you have to fall in love with it. And it is not difficult to be overwhelmed by its oblique and anarchic beauty, so intense as to be forgiven even that dark side that it hides and that makes it dangerous, excessive, sometimes brutal.

Visiting the city considered the grand finale of the Grand Tour offers a journey "through the mirror", to a place where contradictions are the daily bread and where the sacred and the profane mix continuously, at every street corner.

Be sure to look beyond the slightly tattered exterior to uncover the city's intoxicating mix of high culture, one-of-a-kind street life and foodie delights.

Your Hotel

The 5* Grand Hotel Vesuvio offers old school charm and chicness combined with a strategic seafront location and magnificent views of the bay and Castello dell'Ovo.

Day 8-15: Amalfi Coast

You know the articles titled "10 places to see before you die"? If you read one that does not mention the Amalfi Coast it is better not to trust it. The stretch of the Campania coast that goes from Vietri to Positano, in fact, is definitely one of the most spectacular places in the world, and it's not us saying it, but UNESCO, which in 1997 recognised it as a World Heritage Site.

Overlooking the Gulf of Salerno, this strip of coast is dotted with breathtaking villages rich in history, culture, aromas and flavors.

Your Hotel

Relais Blu is the ultimate romantic hideaway, set in cliff-top gardens filled with olive trees and the sound of bird song. Dine on mouth-watering Michelin-starred Italian cuisine on the terrace as the sun disappears behind the island of Capri.
