A country retreat with room to slow down

Relais d’Arfanta suits couples who want to stay among the hills, with time for the pool, a relaxed breakfast and a few well-chosen wine visits. The rural setting is the main attraction: this is somewhere to enjoy between excursions, rather than a town base for stepping out to several restaurants.

We recommend it when food, wine and countryside are the focus. The practical plan includes evenings as well as daytime outings, with a car or arranged transport chosen from the start.

Junior Suite or Suite?

Junior Suite

Approximately 35 m², with a garden outlook and a relaxation area. Bathroom configurations include a bath and/or rain shower, so we confirm the room if either is essential.

Suite

Up to approximately 60 m², with a more generous sitting area or separate relaxation space. This can be worthwhile for a longer stay when you want more than a bedroom to return to.

Accommodation is individually furnished. We specify the exact room and building, outlook, access and any extra-bed arrangement in your proposal; category photographs do not establish that every room has the same features.

Pool days and selected tastings

The outdoor pool and garden give the stay a leisurely focus. Inside, the wellness area includes a Finnish sauna, Turkish bath and relaxation space, with treatments available by arrangement. We confirm access and any booking requirements for your dates.

Breakfast starts the day at the relais. We plan dinners in local restaurants, or confirm any specially arranged private dining, rather than assuming a restaurant operates every evening.

Wine visits work best with time to talk, taste and enjoy the landscape between stops. A guided outing or cycling day can add variety, with the terrain and route matched to your interests and stamina. We also leave time to enjoy the property itself.

A car or driver makes the countryside accessible

Rail can bring you to the wider area, but the relais needs a final road journey. For a car-free holiday, we arrange the arrival transfer and the transport for meals and excursions. Reaching a nearby station alone does not make the stay car-free in practice.

A hire car adds useful freedom for villages, viewpoints and restaurant evenings. For a day of wine tasting, an arranged driver is the more comfortable choice. A mixed route can keep Venice car-free and add a car only for the hills.

Contrast the countryside with Venice or the mountains

Venice offers a strong art-city pairing. For a longer summer or autumn route, Alta Badia adds higher mountain scenery and walking.

We treat both as separate stays with proper travel time, rather than describing them as nearby attractions. Across 10–14 nights, two bases usually give the best balance; a third can be added when the pace and travel arrangements justify it.
