A small village hotel with a food and wine focus

Villa Abbazia suits couples who enjoy traditional interiors, individual rooms and a village setting. Its palazzo and Art Nouveau villa stand in Follina beside the abbey: the hotel is not itself a converted medieval abbey.

We recommend it for a stay combining good meals, selected wine visits and time in the villages of the Prosecco Hills. It is also a useful contrast to Venice, with a slower pace and a different view of the Veneto.

Choose the outlook and the extra space

Deluxe room

These courtyard-facing rooms are approximately 15–25 m². They suit couples looking for an intimate room; a terrace is available only in some rooms and must be confirmed.

Junior Suite

Approximately 30–40 m², with a sitting area and sofa bed. Views vary between the courtyard, garden and abbey. Consider one if you want more room to relax during a longer stay.

Romantic Suite

Approximately 60 m² for two, with a separate sitting room and furnished outdoor space overlooking the garden and river. It is the strongest choice when private space is part of a special occasion.

Individual rooms

The eighteen rooms are spread between two buildings. We check floor, access, bed arrangement and bathroom style, as the accommodation is individual rather than standardised.

Make food and village life part of the holiday

La Corte gives the stay a restaurant focus, while La Cantinetta and the tea room offer other settings. We plan meals around current opening days and the board arrangement quoted, rather than assuming every option is available each evening.

Follina’s abbey can be part of a relaxed village day. Further afield, we can arrange a small number of wine visits, a guided walk or time in neighbouring villages. A private driver is particularly useful for a day of tastings.

The garden gives you somewhere to pause between outings. This is a good place to leave an afternoon free, especially when a longer dinner is planned.

Rail to Conegliano, then a road transfer

Follina has no railway station. For a car-free stay, we arrange the final transfer from a suitable station or airport and plan the rural outings separately. Conegliano’s rail connections do not remove the need for that last road stage.

A hire car gives you freedom to explore villages and viewpoints independently. A mixed holiday can leave Venice car-free, then add a car for the hills. We can also build the entire rural stage around a driver and selected excursions if you prefer.

Venice, vineyards and an optional mountain stay

Venice and Follina make a clear two-centre pairing for art, food and wine. For a longer summer or autumn holiday, Alta Badia adds mountain scenery and walking.

We allow enough time in the hills for the hotel and village, rather than using Follina as an overnight stop between longer drives. Two bases usually work best across 10–14 nights, with a third considered when the journey still feels unhurried.
