For couples
A small hotel for a special stay
A strong choice for anniversaries and couples who enjoy quiet shared spaces, thoughtful interiors and afternoons at the hotel.
Pella · Lake Orta
Eleven rooms, Piero Lissoni design and a garden pool overlooking Lake Orta: a small lakeside hotel for couples who want time to enjoy where they stay.
The ExpertoItaly view
Casa Fantini works best when the hotel is a substantial part of the holiday. An unhurried breakfast, a trip across the water and an afternoon in the garden make a convincing day here. We particularly like it as a restful finish after Milan, Turin or a more active mountain stay.
Piero Lissoni’s design brings together a nineteenth-century house and a contemporary building, using timber, local stone and large windows. The connection to the Fantini family’s bathroom-design business gives the architecture a local story as well as a distinctive appearance.
The lounge and garden keep the lake in view. With just eleven rooms, the scale is intimate, and the private steam showers add something useful even in the entry category.

Who it suits
For couples
A strong choice for anniversaries and couples who enjoy quiet shared spaces, thoughtful interiors and afternoons at the hotel.
For design enthusiasts
Lissoni’s buildings and the Fantini family story make this a particularly coherent choice after a design-focused stay in Milan.
For slower holidays
Allow time for Orta San Giulio and the island, then leave room for the pool, reading and a leisurely lunch.
For car-free travellers
A car-free stay works when we arrange arrival and departure transfers and plan outings around suitable boats or a driver.
Pella is a small village, with a quieter evening rhythm than a large resort. We would be more selective for guests seeking nightlife, extensive family facilities or a different excursion every day. Tell us about any mobility requirements so we can check the specific room and routes through the hotel before booking.
Rooms & suites
The hotel describes lake and San Giulio Island views from every room. All three categories have a Turkish bath within the shower; the meaningful differences are space, layout and outdoor areas.

Terrace first
Five rooms of approximately 20 m², on the first floor of the newer building, with a large furnished terrace. Our choice when outdoor space is more important than a larger bedroom.

More room indoors
Four rooms of approximately 25 m², on the second floor of the newer building, with a small sitting area and lake outlook. A useful step up in indoor comfort; we confirm the individual outdoor-space arrangement.

For a longer or special stay
Two suites of approximately 62 m², each occupying a floor of the historic building. These offer a substantial increase in space and are our first consideration for a special occasion when a compact bedroom would disappoint.
Our room advice
Compare Superior’s terrace with Prestige’s extra indoor space. We would not automatically treat the higher category as the better fit. For a suite, tell us whether a particular outlook, outdoor area or access arrangement is essential so we can confirm the individual accommodation.
Food, facilities & hotel life

Breakfast gives the day an easy start, with the garden and lake close at hand. The restaurant serves seasonal Italian cooking with local specialities; Blu Lago Café faces Pella’s square. We confirm meal inclusions, service times and restaurant opening days for your dates.
The hotel has its own outdoor heated pool and garden. For a spring or autumn stay, we check operating dates and heating arrangements. Leave time to enjoy them, rather than using the hotel only between excursions.
Wellbeing centres on the steam shower in your room, with treatments and yoga available to arrange. This is an intimate hotel with specific wellbeing options, rather than a large spa complex.
The hotel offers an electric boat for self-drive hire, with a picnic available from the kitchen. We can check availability and hire conditions when planning your stay; it is an optional arrangement, not an automatic inclusion.
Location & getting around

Casa Fantini sits beside Piazza Motta in Pella. You can step outside into the village for a lakeside stroll, a café or local dining. This is a village hotel with a garden, rather than an isolated estate.
Orta San Giulio and San Giulio Island are natural outings across the lake. Boat services depend on the season and timetable: we check the return connection before building a day around them, especially if you want an evening out.
Start with our Lake Orta holiday ideas to see how the lake can work as a relaxed base.
A rail journey into the region still needs a final road connection to Pella. We arrange private transfers from a suitable railway station, airport or your previous accommodation. A car adds value for wider countryside exploration; it is not essential for a stay centred on the hotel and lake.
The hotel confirms private parking and temporary unloading outside. It is within a restricted traffic zone; the team registers your number plate. We include the approach and parking instructions with your arrangements.
For inland villages and viewpoints, choose a hire car or a planned driver day. We can keep city stages car-free and introduce road transport only where it makes the journey easier.
Tell us about steps, walking distances or bathroom requirements before choosing a category. We check the individual room and shared-area access directly, rather than assuming the whole hotel is step-free.

Where it fits
Choose the contrast that interests you, then give each base a clear purpose.

City & design
Architecture, galleries and city dining followed by the quieter rhythm of Pella. We can keep Milan car-free and arrange the onward transfer to the lake.

Culture & Piedmont
Museums, royal history and good city restaurants before a restful Lake Orta stay. A private transfer makes the change of base straightforward.

Summer mountains & lake
Walking and mountain scenery followed by time by the pool. Best when you want a clear landscape contrast, with the road journey planned as part of the holiday.
Four nights is a useful starting point for Casa Fantini within a longer journey. With seven nights, we generally favour one base; ten to fourteen nights usually work best with two. Add a third only when it improves the route and still leaves meaningful time at the hotel. A week here suits guests expressly seeking rest, with a few well-chosen outings.
