Villa La Capita’s appeal lies in its balance of private outdoor space and a useful eastern Sicily position. The saltwater pool, garden and furnished terraces make days at home easy, while Zafferana Etnea, Etna, Catania and the Ionian coast can all be explored by car.
The interiors are colourful, personal and traditional rather than contemporary or resort-like. This is a villa for guests who value atmosphere, views and relaxed outdoor living more than uniform bedrooms or hotel-style facilities.
Best for: one family with children, parents travelling with grandparents, or a compatible multigenerational group of up to six. It is not a four-couple villa: the four bedrooms include one single room and one room with a smaller French bed.
Broad terraces and mature planting create several places to sit outside.
The house has a warm, established feel rather than a polished resort atmosphere.
Before you choose it
The villa sleeps six across a double bedroom, a smaller French-bed room and a single room on the ground floor, plus an upper-floor master double. The layout suits a family better than four couples expecting equivalent rooms.
There are three rooms described as bathrooms, but only two are confirmed with a bath or shower: one ground-floor shower room and the upper master en suite with both shower and bath.
Two standing fans are provided for flexible use around the villa. The saltwater pool, broad terraces and several outdoor sitting areas make relaxed outdoor living a natural part of warmer days.
The nearest delicatessen is about 900 metres away and restaurants begin around 1.5 km. The villa works as a driving base for Etna and eastern Sicily, with private parking within the grounds.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Four bedrooms for six guests
On the ground floor are one double bedroom, one bedroom with a smaller French bed and one single bedroom. The upper floor contains the master double bedroom with its own bathroom.
Three bathrooms
The ground floor has two bathrooms, but only one is confirmed with a shower. The upper-floor master en suite has both a shower and a bath. Guests should therefore plan around two confirmed bathing bathrooms.
Time at the villa
Villa La Capita is at its best when unhurried days outside are balanced with selected excursions around Etna and the Ionian coast.
The private 10 × 5 metre pool sits within the garden, with open views and space for relaxed days at the villa.
A furnished terrace and barbecue make it practical to eat outside without organising every lunch or dinner away from the villa.
Loungers, shaded seating and open terraces give the group a choice of spaces through different parts of the day.
The main living and dining space is bright and personal, with garden views and direct access towards the terraces.
The kitchen includes a gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, espresso machine, kettle and toaster.
A sheltered courtyard beside the house adds another place for family lunches or quieter sitting away from the pool.

Location
Villa La Capita sits near Fleri, between Zafferana Etnea and Trecastagni, on Mount Etna’s lower eastern slopes. Mount Ilice rises behind the house, while the outlook opens across countryside towards the Ionian Sea.
This is a useful base for travellers who want varied days rather than a single-resort stay. Etna villages and walking landscapes are close at hand; Acireale and Santa Tecla bring the volcanic coast; Catania adds markets and Baroque streets; and Taormina is realistic as a planned day trip. The trade-off is that everyday life and excursions depend on a car.

Villa La Capita works best when pool days are balanced with a small number of purposeful excursions. These guides help you decide what each day should contain—and what not to combine.
Volcanic landscape
The eastern slopes make Etna a natural priority. Decide between the cable-car area, a guided geological walk, villages or food and wine rather than forcing every Etna experience into one day.
Active nature
The gorge can be a scenic visit or a more active river day. Age, confidence in water, river conditions and the exact booked activity matter, particularly for families with children or teenagers.
Town and coast
Taormina is close enough for the Greek Theatre, Corso Umberto and the coast, but summer timing and parking need thought. A planned visit works better than repeatedly driving into the resort.
City and food
Catania adds markets, lava-stone Baroque and a completely different rhythm from the villa. Treat it as a cultural and food-led day rather than only the airport city.
