A smaller villa can give two adults or a family of up to four the privacy, outdoor space and independence of a house without paying for unused bedrooms.
The right use of the space
For a couple, the attraction is privacy and a pool or sea setting without a large-group property. For a family, two proper bedrooms can protect sleep and routine while keeping everyone within one secure home.
The location should do useful work. A countryside villa near Noto supports Baroque towns and beach days; a coastal villa makes unstructured time easier and reduces the need to drive every day.
Best suited to
Couples who value privacy; parents with one or two children; a grandparent joining a family of three; and travellers combining a cultural first stay with a slower villa week.

A villa stay does not need to carry the whole holiday. For ten to fourteen nights, three or four nights in Palermo, Siracusa or the Etna area can be followed by a settled villa week with the pool or coast built into the daily rhythm.
