Overview

The hotel is designed to take advantage of the spectacular views. Newly built, the exterior is reminiscent of a Sicilian villa, with wrought-iron balconies that twist away from Sicilian stone walls, and gardens filled with olive and almond trees.

Inside, polished-chestnut furniture and Sicilian ceramics continue the authentic theme, although the overall design feels contemporary with potted plants adding a splash of colour here and there against pastel walls and creamy marble floors.

Breakfast is served on the outdoor terrace by the pool with the sun rising over Mount Etna as a backdrop for those who are up in time.

All rooms have a furnished terrace with picture-perfect views of Mount Etna and the Bay of Naxos.

Dining

Breakfast is served leisurely on the terrace overlooking the Bay of Naxos and Mt Etna. You help yourself to the vast Sicilian offering: trails of pastries, fresh fruit and yoghurts, plates of cheese and ham, bacon and eggs.

There is no evening restaurant but the staff will happily recommend somewhere or arrange room delivery if you prefer to eat in the privacy of your own terrace.

During the day, those who prefer to lounge by the pool can take advantage of the bar for salads, toasts, paninis, aperitifs and cocktails.

The restaurants of Taormina are just a couple of minutes away with the hotel's shuttle, but just a few steps from the Villa Angela, try the Al Saraceno serving grilled seafood and fish, pasta and pizzas on the panoramic terrace.

Location

Villa Angela is below the Chiesa della Madonna Rocca, about 20 minutes' walk from Taormina's centre.

By way of compensation, there are incredible views and the hotel provides a shuttle service, besides the local bus, to get into town. For even more spectacular views over Taormina and Mount Etna, take a walk up to Castelmola, a pretty hamlet nestled high above Taormina.

The Beach Clubs of Taormina and Mazzaro' include free pick-up and return transportation from the hotel.
