Corte di Gabriela brings together three things we value in Venice: a useful central address, a hotel with a recognisable personality, and somewhere pleasant to return to between visits. The courtyard and Gian Luca’s carefully prepared breakfasts give the stay a rhythm of its own.

The restored nineteenth-century palazzo combines decorated beams, Venetian flooring and selected frescoed interiors with contemporary furniture and lighting. It suits travellers who enjoy the building’s history and the contrast of modern design.

We would usually begin with a Luxury Canal View room. Looking onto the small Rio di Ca’ Corner makes the setting part of the stay; the Junior Suite with balcony is particularly appealing for an anniversary. The outlook is onto a neighbourhood canal, rather than a broad Grand Canal panorama.

Our starting point: three or four nights within a longer holiday, with a canal-facing room, unhurried breakfasts and time to explore beyond the main sights.

The hotel’s published room policy excludes children under ten. We check the arrangements before proposing a stay with older children, rather than assuming every room is suitable for a family.

The main hotel lists lift access and a ground-floor Comfort Room designed for guests with disabilities. Venice still involves boat boarding and bridges, so we check the whole arrival route and bathroom layout against your needs.

The categories differ in more than size. Canal views, an outdoor balcony and a private sauna are specific choices. We confirm the individual room, bed arrangement and bath or shower before booking.

Luxury Canal View

On the first or second floor, overlooking the Rio di Ca’ Corner, with decorated beams and an enclosed balcony feature. The bathroom may have a bath or shower. The enclosed feature is not the open balcony of the named Junior Suite.

For a celebration

Junior Suite Canal View & Balcony

A second-floor suite with a frescoed ceiling, views towards the canal and courtyard, and a small balcony over the water. It has a shower. We favour it when both the interior and a private outdoor perch matter.

For a courtyard outlook

Luxury Garden View

Decorated beams and contemporary design, with an outlook towards the courtyard garden and calle. A good alternative when the interiors and hotel experience matter more than seeing water from the room. The bathroom has a shower.

For ground-floor access

Comfort & Deluxe Canal View

Comfort overlooks the calle and is the category described as accessible by the hotel. Deluxe Canal View is also on the ground floor, with canal-facing windows and original wall frescoes. Both list showers; ground-floor position alone does not establish accessibility.

For a larger main-hotel room

Junior Suite Canal View

A first-floor option with decorated beams and views towards both the canal and courtyard. A single sofa bed may be available, subject to the booking party. It has a shower and is a separate category from the balcony suite.

For privacy and a sauna

Deluxe Suite in the annexe · 60 m²

In an adjacent building, with its own ground-floor entrance, a living area, kitchenette, canal outlook and private sauna. The 200 × 200 cm bed is larger than the 160 × 200 cm doubles listed for the main-hotel categories. We confirm breakfast and service arrangements in your proposal.

For a longer, more independent stay

Maison di Gabriela is a separate apartment

About five minutes’ walk from the hotel, this first-floor apartment overlooks Campo San Maurizio. An equipped kitchen and washing machine make it worth considering for a longer visit. We check access, housekeeping and breakfast arrangements separately; it should not be treated as another room inside the hotel.

Gian Luca’s breakfast

Breakfast is served à la carte, with homemade cakes and savoury dishes, eggs and crêpes prepared to order, and coffee from a moka. The advertised hours run from 8am until around 11am: a good reason to leave some mornings unhurried.

Between visits

The courtyard and lounge

The wisteria-covered courtyard provides outdoor sitting space when the weather suits; the lounge bar offers an indoor alternative. These are intimate shared spaces. There is no swimming pool or full spa; the sauna is private to the annexe suite.

Evening

Restaurants on your doorstep

Plan to dine out for your main meals, with choices around Campo Sant’Angelo, Santo Stefano and further into San Marco. The hotel also lists limited evening room service. We can help plan dinner around a concert, exhibition or neighbourhood walk.

Location and getting around

San Marco on foot, with a carefully planned arrival

The hotel is on Calle degli Avvocati, near Campo Sant’Angelo. La Fenice and Palazzo Grassi are nearby, with St Mark’s Square and Rialto roughly ten minutes away on foot. Allow longer for bridges, busy passages and the stops you will want to make along the way.

Arrive without a car

From Santa Lucia station, the hotel recommends vaporetto line 1 to Sant’Angelo, followed by a short walk that crosses a small bridge. We can arrange a private water transfer and confirm the landing point, final walking distance and luggage assistance.

A car has no use during the Venice stay. If your wider route includes driving, we plan collection or return around the city visit. Tell us about mobility concerns before booking: a lift inside the hotel does not remove steps and bridges on the way there.

For seven nights, one base usually gives the most satisfying pace; Venice can easily support a week for a culturally focused visit. With ten to fourteen nights, we generally favour two bases, introducing a third only when the route and your interests justify the extra move. Three or four nights here work well when Venice is one part of that longer journey.
