Villa Marina stands out because its five bedrooms are arranged to give a larger family real independence. The ground and first floors each combine a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, two en-suite shower rooms, a kitchen, a living area and access to a terrace. A further master suite occupies the upper floor.
That layout makes shared holidays easier: two families can keep separate morning routines, teenagers can use a different sitting room, and everyone can still come together by the pool or around the outdoor dining table. The sandy beach is about 400 metres away, while Modica, Scicli and the Montalbano coast bring variety beyond villa days. A car is essential for restaurants, shopping and sightseeing, and guests need to be comfortable with stairs and a pool that is 1.5 metres deep throughout.
Best for: two families holidaying together, multigenerational groups and families with older children or confident swimmers who want the sea, substantial private facilities and enough space to separate when needed.
Each of the two lower floors has one double and one twin bedroom, both with en-suite showers, together with its own kitchen, sitting space and terrace. The upper master suite can work for grandparents, hosts or a fifth couple.
The price reflects the amount of space and the private facilities. Full or near-full occupancy makes the strongest use of the villa. Groups of five couples should note that two bedrooms have twin beds; the fact sheet does not confirm that they can become doubles.
The sea and sandy beach are close, but the nearest listed restaurant and delicatessen are about 1.7 and 1.6 kilometres away, with wider shops around 6 kilometres away. A car is essential for practical errands and cultural days out; private parking is provided.
The villa occupies three floors and step-free access is not confirmed. The outdoor pool is a uniform 1.5 metres deep, with no shallow end listed, so it is better suited to confident swimmers than very young children.
The ground floor has one double and one twin bedroom; the first floor repeats the same arrangement. On the second floor, a double master bedroom has its own small sitting area and panoramic terrace. The separation is particularly useful for two families or several generations.
All five bedrooms have an en-suite shower room, while a separate WC on the first floor brings the total to six bathrooms. No baths are listed. Ground-floor bedrooms may reduce repeated trips upstairs, but access into the villa, garden and pool is not confirmed as step-free.
Staying in should be part of the holiday here. The pool, gardens, terraces and wellness room allow complete villa days, while separate indoor spaces let different generations follow their own rhythm. The private pool measures 12 × 5 metres and sits within a 2,000 m² garden. It is listed as open from April to November and is not heated; the uniform depth is 1.5 metres.
A broad covered terrace, dining table and barbecue make shared lunches and evening meals easy, with the garden, pool and sea all part of the setting.
Kitchens on the ground and first floors support two-family stays particularly well. The supplied equipment includes an electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, espresso machine, freezer and three fridges.
A ground-floor sitting room, larger first-floor living and dining room, and small upper sitting area give adults, children and teenagers more than one place to relax.
The indoor wellness area includes a sauna, sensory shower and private Jacuzzi heated to approximately 30°C. The Jacuzzi is heated; the outdoor swimming pool is not.
About 150 m² of private terraces provide different places for morning coffee, quieter reading and evening drinks, including an upper terrace with an open coastal outlook.
Villa Marina sits on Sicily’s southern coast at Marina di Modica, with the rocky shoreline just beyond the garden and a sandy beach about 400 metres away. The sea remains visible from the grounds, terraces and principal living spaces, so time at home still feels closely connected to the coast.
Days can move between the pool and beach, the stone streets and food traditions of Modica and Scicli, or a longer drive to Ragusa Ibla and the Montalbano coastline. Syracuse makes a purposeful full day rather than an everyday outing. The setting offers genuine variety, but dining, shopping and sightseeing work best with a car.
Villa Marina is best enjoyed by alternating substantial outings with time by the pool and sea. These guides help set the pace and show which places combine naturally from this stretch of coast.
Modica’s stepped Baroque streets and chocolate tradition pair well with the smaller scale of Scicli. They are close enough for a cultural day that still leaves time to return to the villa.
Use Ragusa Ibla for its lanes, cathedral square and views, or shape a coastal day around Punta Secca, Donnafugata and selected filming locations rather than trying to include everything.
Syracuse is the longest of the principal cultural outings. Give it a full day for Ortigia’s waterfront, market, lanes and architecture, adding the archaeological park only when the group wants a more intensive visit.
Short distances can disguise slow historic centres and rewarding stops. A well-paced drive chooses one or two towns, allows time for lunch, and leaves the remainder of the day free rather than collecting viewpoints.
For a longer holiday, Villa Marina combines particularly well with a shorter stay in Syracuse, the Etna countryside or Taormina.
