Where Urbino’s Renaissance brainiacs meet today’s design-led travellers in five suites and a secret spa.

📍Urbino

Palazzo Giusti is an aristocratic palazzo quietly reworked for the 21st century, where Urbino’s mathematicians, humanists and stucco artists become your hosts in residence. In just five suites and a hidden spa, the city’s mathematical golden age is translated into frescoes, stucco and clean-lined Italian design.

Instead of anonymous room numbers, you sleep in the company of Guidobaldo del Monte, Muzio Oddi, Bernardino Baldi, Federico Brandani and Federico Commandino – each suite a contemporary stage for original ceilings, fireplaces and carefully restored decoration. Beneath it all, a vaulted space now houses a cocooning spa, so you move in a few steps from gallery masterpieces to bio-sauna, whirlpools and herbal tea.

Why You’ll Love It

Mathematical Renaissance focus – five suites dedicated to Urbino’s great mathematicians and humanists, with subtle references to their work.

Secret spa beneath the palazzo – an intimate wellness area with pools, hydromassage, bio-sauna and Turkish bath in the building’s historic fabric.

Design within history – conservation of frescoes, stucco and fireplaces paired with graphic parquet, mirrors and contemporary lighting.

Only five suites – an inherently quiet, discreet atmosphere in the very heart of Urbino’s historic centre.

Spa experiences with a twist – private spa use, day-use and “AperiSpa” formulas that make wellness a highlight rather than an add-on.

🛏️ Room Types at a Glance:

Suite Guidobaldo del Monte

🛏️ 84 m² | Double bed + single sofa bed | Up to 3 guests | East-facing Cesane hills

The palazzo’s most theatrical suite, dedicated to the mathematician and astronomer Guidobaldo del Monte, feels like a private apartment looking towards the Cesane hills.

Original 18th-century stucco and painted details frame a contemporary “starry sky” alcove over the bed, while a separate sitting room includes a freestanding bathtub and single sommier for a third guest.

A bathroom with both bath and shower keeps longer stays comfortable, and the generous windows flood the space with soft morning light.

Suite Bernardino Baldi

🛏️ 68 m² | Two French double beds | Up to 4 guests | East-facing Cesane hills

Centred on a dramatic rocaille fireplace with the Castracane coat of arms, the Bernardino Baldi suite works beautifully for couples who enjoy extra space or friends travelling together.

Two French doubles share a large, characterful room that once served as a study and reception room; beyond it, a vaulted living area displays decorations inspired by the fourth Pompeian style.

A modern shower bathroom and those same far-reaching views towards the Cesane hills make this an especially convivial space.

Suite Muzio Oddi

🛏️ 55 m² | Double bed | Up to 2 guests | Via Vittorio Veneto & Piazza della Repubblica

Muzio Oddi’s suite is the most overtly contemporary: an open-plan layout where black parquet plays against white plaster for a clean, graphic effect.

Four tall windows bring in abundant daylight and look onto Via Vittorio Veneto and Piazza della Repubblica, so you feel Urbino’s daily rhythm while retaining a sense of privacy.

A generous living area, double bed and sleek bathroom with shower create an urban-loft atmosphere with historic bones.

Suite Federico Brandani

🛏️ 78 m² | Double or twin beds | Up to 2 guests | Via Vittorio Veneto

Dedicated to stucco master Federico Brandani, this suite balances statement design with deep historic character.

Accent lighting, brass details and a mirrored wall define the living area; step into the bedroom and you enter the “Moses Room”, where a vaulted ceiling with lunettes frames a half-fresco of the Delivery of the Tablets of the Law within a gilded hexagonal stucco surround.

Opposite stands a polychrome fireplace with a richly modelled Brandani-style riser. The flexible twin-or-double configuration and modern shower bathroom make it as practical as it is striking.

Suite Federico Commandino

🛏️ 72 m² | Double bed | Up to 2 guests | Courtyard & historic streets

The Federico Commandino suite channels pure Renaissance elegance. The bedroom – the “Stanzino delle Virtù” – preserves a pavilion and lunette vault where stucco frames, painted Virtues and herm figures form an intricate decorative cycle.

A contemporary palette of soft pinks and mirrored lower walls gently updates the space without diluting its character.

A spacious living area and large bathroom with both bath and shower are complemented by one unforgettable feature: the “Balcone della Vita”, a bathroom projecting over the street that has become one of Urbino’s most photographed corners.

Food & Beverage Options 🍴

Breakfast

A rich breakfast based on local, organic products is included and served in a nearby café – a civilised way to start the day among Urbino’s residents rather than in a formal hotel dining room.

Lunch & Dinner

Palazzo Giusti does not run a full restaurant. Light snacks or an aperitif can sometimes be arranged around spa packages such as AperiSpa, but the idea is to use the palazzo as your elegant base and dine out locally.

Dining in Urbino

Within a few minutes’ walk you will find a compact network of trattorie, wine bars and osterie around Piazza della Repubblica, Palazzo Ducale and the university quarter. This is where we can point you towards relaxed spots for crescia sfogliata and regional pasta, as well as more polished rooms for a slower dinner once the day-trippers have gone.
