The Story

A love story turned landscape. After moving to Ischia in the 1950s, British composer Sir William Walton and his Argentinian wife Lady Susana transformed a wild, rocky ravine (overgrown with mortella—myrtle) into a garden where music meets botany. Landscape wizard Russell Page helped design the terraces and water features; today the William Walton Foundation keeps the garden thriving and the music playing.
