A boutique hotel with spa in the seaside village of Portopalo di Capo Passero on Sicily’s south coast, the QuattroCuori is less than 10 minutes walk from a beautiful beach where the Mediterranean and Ionian seas merge. The small resort of Portopalo makes the ideal base for seaside fun mixed with cultural visits to nearby historic towns.

Inside the hotel’s modern building, the delightful decor uses shades of blues and warm sandy tones to extend the feeling of being by the sea. Step into the hotel’s spa to soak in the large whirlpool with hydromassage, warm your muscles in the sauna and colour therapy shower. Book ahead for a massage, facial or from an array of other beauty treatments.

The hotel’s seven pretty rooms burst with seaside-themed decor and colours. Each has its own mood and bespoke fragrance wafting in the air. Choose from two double rooms, four quadruple rooms suitable for families, and a junior suite with a private hydrotherapy pool.

Settle down in one of the white wrought-iron chairs on the covered patio for a breakfast of pastries, cheeses, fresh fruit, juices, coffee and tea, plus the option of cooked eggs and other hot items, on request. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available. When it rains, head inside for breakfast at one of the tables with wooden chairs and blue booth.

Nearby cafes provide lovely lunches you can take inside or down to the beach, and restaurants serve pizzas and fresh seafood.

In the extreme south of Sicily, Portopalo di Capo Passero is a seaside village washed by the Ionian Sea and the Mediterranean.

The splendid sea and the large and beautiful beaches of the area attract large numbers of tourists every year. It is also ideal for surfers and windsurfers.

The Island of Capo Passero, a few dozens of meters from the mainland, and the Island of the Correnti a few kilometers further south, are part of its territory. The former was once a peninsula, while the latter still becomes a peninsula at low tide.

It's also a birdwatching paradise because of the migratory flow of water birds from North Africa to the Sicilian coasts. The temperature is quite high in the summer (sometimes even above 37 ° in the shade), while it tends to drop in the winter, but rarely or almost never below 5 °.
