An apartment stay on a working wine estate

Selva Capuzza suits couples and families who prefer a country base to a busy lakeside town. The accommodation at Borgo San Donino sits within the estate, around four kilometres south of Lake Garda, with vineyards, gardens and space to spend time outdoors.

Choose it for a week of pool time, wine visits and outings by car. The apartment arrangement gives you flexibility over meals and daily routines, while the estate restaurant adds an easy reason to stay close to home for dinner.

Match the apartment to your group

The named apartments differ in floor, layout and outdoor space. We select an actual apartment for your party, checking bedrooms, sofa beds and access, rather than booking a generic family room.

Nocciolo

A first-floor apartment of around 60 m² in the former hayloft, with a kitchen and living room, separate bedroom, shower room and balcony. Its layout suits travellers who want somewhere to prepare a simple meal and sit separately from the bedroom.

These can connect to provide two bedrooms, a living room and two bathrooms for up to six guests. We check the exact bed arrangement against the ages and preferences of your group.

Ground-floor choices

Other accommodation includes ground-floor layouts and garden patios. Tell us if avoiding stairs or having direct outdoor access matters; we confirm the named apartment and its bathroom before making the recommendation.

The apartments have kitchenettes and air conditioning. There are no televisions at Borgo San Donino, which is useful to know when deciding whether this country setting suits your family.

Breakfast, swimming and the estate wines

Breakfast is included, and the seasonal outdoor pool gives you a reason to leave some days unplanned. The estate’s published pool season runs from June to the end of September; we check the arrangements for your dates.

Cascina Capuzza restaurant is reached by a walk through the vineyards from the accommodation. We plan around its opening days, with other meals in your apartment or during outings. Wine tastings and cellar visits can be arranged in advance.

This is a good base for exploring Lugana wine country, visiting Desenzano or spending a day in Sirmione. Borghetto and Valeggio sul Mincio offer another outing for village walks, gardens and local food.

A car makes the countryside practical

We normally recommend a car here. It gives you freedom to shop, visit the lake and choose restaurants beyond the estate. A railway connection to Desenzano helps with the regional journey, but the accommodation still requires a road transfer and a plan for local outings.

A mixed journey can work particularly well: visit an art city by train, then collect a car for the country stay. A transfer-based holiday is possible when you want to remain mainly on the estate and arrange specific excursions, rather than setting out independently each day.

Country space after a city stay

Pair Selva Capuzza with Verona or Padua for a contrast between city streets and wine country. San Vigilio di Marebbe can add a summer mountain stage for families with enough time for three bases.

For 10–14 nights, two stays often give the most comfortable pace. We also check apartment arrival days and minimum stays before building the route around your dates.
